NFC Bootcamp have arguably done more to educate folks on how to use NFC than any other group. That’s not to say there aren’t many other great teams educating people about how to add NFC features to products or start new businesses. However, NFC Bootcamp tours the US putting on organized training sessions that take developers and marketers from step one to the implementation and marketing of their NFC app, device or service. They are also platform agnostic, which allows for a 360 degree understanding of the industry, challenges and opportunities that are available. In short, NFC Bootcamp is a valuable resource for folks looking to build something meaningful in the nascent NFC market.
The latest and greatest tour event for the NFC bootcamp team is taking place in Santa Clara, California and has a few extras that could well make it worth your while attending. (As if you really need another reason.) The heavy hitting NFC industry team behind NFC Bootcamp has organized a free pre-event which includes an NFC tour of the Cellotape headquarters in Freemont.
Cellotape to show off NFC tag manufacturing and the PaybyPhone system at NFC Bootcamp free pre-event
Here at NFC Rumors, we know the firm Cellotape from old. They are probably the biggest NFC tag converters that we know of. What’s a converter? Well, it’s the process of taking a vanilla NFC tag and turning it into a printed smart poster, label, sticker or anything else you need. In fact, Cellotape actually turned our NFC infographic into a real NFC poster with a little help from UPM RFID. To say understanding and seeing how the process of conversion happens is an understatement. The team at NFC Bootcamp has told us that attendees will even get to see NFC tags being manufactured. If you read our article on the PaybyPhone project over in San Francisco that uses NFC tags for parking payments in the city, you will appreciate seeing the system in action. Yes, Cellotape was the firm that created the NFC stickers for that particular project.
NFC Bootcamp have arranged the tour for free for NFC Bootcamp attendees and NFC community members. The event also doubles up as a networking event. So yes, it’s worth attending on multiple levels if you can be in the area. The NFC Bootcamp free pre-event happens on the 23rd of January at Cellotape’s headquarters, located at :
47623 Freemont Blvd., Freemont, CA 94538
After the NFC Bootcamp free pre-event finishes there will be refreshments and you can even hang out with the NFC Bootcamp team and other attendees. If you are planning on attending do let us know in the comments below and also come back this post when you have been and let the community know how you found the event.
