Lloyds TSB will be the first bank to partner with Samsung & Visa to bring NFC contactless payments to the U.K. Olympics.
It’s official not only do the fittest survive but they also get contactless mobile payments to use while in London. Lloyds TSB will be the first bank to partner with Samsung & Visa to bring NFC contactless payments to the U.K. Olympic Athletes will receive NFC capable phones that can be used in and around London with participating retailers. Whereas this is great news for the Olympics it carries larger implications for the future of mobile payments. BarclayCard expected to release its own mobile payments program any day now and we will keep you updated.
So there you have it, the Brits will get a digital wallet before anyone else in Europe and the United States.
