LG T530 NFC Feature Phone

LG is launching a little NFC Feature phone called the LG T530 this July. The phone is a higher specified NFC version of LG‘s T series feature phones, that also includes the T500 & the WifI enabled T505 as its stable mates. There aren’t many details on specifications for the phone at the moment, but we have been investigating and have found a few nougats for you to look over.

LG T530 NFC Feature Phone Specifications

This little feature NFC Phone is built to be a budget model and isn’t going to wow you with any high-end panache or new fangled advanced hardware. Instead we feel the LG T530 is aimed at either younger people who aren’t ready for a smartphone or older people who simply want a simple phone with some nice creature comfort features. The LG T530 runs on a no name LG OS and brings support for social networking and standards like emailing and taking photographs. It has a web browser, plays nice with Bluetooth 2.1 and can jump on your WiFi network with 802.11 b/g support.

LG T530 Hardware

Processor: The LG T530 is rocking a single core ARM 11 CPU.

The screen:  A teeny tiny, 2.8 inch LCD with a resolution of 240 x 320 and a color depth of 18 bit.

Memory: The T530 has just north of 2GB on board, 0r 2048MB if you want to get specific. On the RAM side of things, it boasts a surprisingly good 1024MB of SD flavored memory. The internal memory can be added to with the use of a microSD card up to 8GB.

Connectivity: As we mentioned above, the LG T530 supports 802.11 b/g for WiFi. It also is a Bluetooth 2.1 capable device. The phone supports NFC, but details available are very limited at this time. We do not know whether it has a secure element or any specifications on the NFC chip. There also appears to be no information available on the software that will allow the LG T530 to write NFC tags or be used as a digital wallet.

Camera: The camera weights in at 2 mega pixels and will shoot 1600 x 1200 pixel photographs in the JPEG format. It also shoots video, but we wouldn’t get your hopes up on quality here. It supports H.263, 3GPP & MPEG-4.

Audio: The LG T530 has a music player and supports stereo playback, audio recording and radio recording. It is also interestingly said to support audio streaming, which we take to mean services like Pandora and its ilk. As far as supported formats the NFC feature phone supports AAC, AAC+, MP3, WMA and the good old Polyphonic 64 for your cheesy ring tones.

LG T530 Software

Messaging: IM, MMS, SMS and email are all supported. As far as email support is concerned the LG T530 supports IMAP4, POP3, SMTP, SSL and TLS.

Social Media: We have seen Twitter and Facebook apps in the phone.

Summary

The phone is first appearing on France Telecom (Orange) network in July and we should find out some more details nearer to that time. The manufacturer shows the phone in a few colors but we will have to see if that is also true for its release in France. The phone is also due to launch globally aside from North America, who will have to make do with a Nexus S or other smartphones expected within the next few months.

We couldn’t find a video of the LG T530, but we did find one of its identical stable mate the T500 which is below. The only difference between the T530 & T500 Ego phones is the NFC component and WiFi capability.
