Nokia Zeta RM-670 NFC phone blasts past the FCC

Nokia Zeta RM-670 NFC phone blasts past the FCC, time to get your Symbian Belle groove on

It may be an NFC phone with an identity crisis, but the Nokia Zeta  / RM-670 / N7 or Nokia 700, has no such issue when it comes to breezing through the FCC so it can be sold in the US of A. What we can tell from FCC documentation is that this Nokia Zeta Symbian Belle NFC phone is destined for either AT&T and or T-Mobile. The docs reveal the phone runs at 1700MHz AWS and with 850/1900MHz 3G band radios. As you can see above the picture sent to the FCC, the Nokia Zeta is at best minimalistic in a fashion that would make Apple proud, and doesn’t allow much more detail to be extracted from the visuals.

Rumored Nokia Zeta NFC phone specifications

All the specifications we have gleaned so far are rumor at this stage, as Nokia has made no official announcement. However, we can see the 5 mega pixel shooter with an LED flash in the spy shots, so at this point there is no reason to think it doesn’t have the 1GHz CPU. Other Nokia Zeta rumors suggest the NFC phone measures 10mm thick, or what we like to call 1cm, and weighs 80g. The screen is of 3.2 inch nHD AMOLED variety, which is again the same tech that is housed in the N9.

Nokia Zeta NFC phones through the FCC but no word on the Nokia Cindy NFC phone

It is no big surprise to see the Nokia Zeta NFC phone coming through the FCC. We have seen the spy shots and leaked shots a couple of weeks ago and we even had preliminary specifications. What is a bit of a mystery at this point, however, is where is the sister NFC phone, the Nokia Cindy? We would have expected to see these phones that share many attributes to launch together, but alas the Nokia Cindy NFC phone gets chalked up to a no show at the moment. Other than that, we are just waiting for definite specifications, a lunch date and a network announcement. Oh, and it would be lovely to see some pricing. What we can take from the Nokia Zeta NFC phone FCC docs is that we can expect answers to those questions fairly soonish.
