The BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790  NFC phone has been rumored since May, although very little details have emerged. Unproved videos on YouTube are now cropping up showing tutorials on how to use the device. BlackBerry said they were releasing seven smartphones in the near future, but the BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 is yet another iteration of the other two BlackBerry Bolds that are yet to be released – does that count as another smartphone?

We have to say the quality at least looks second to none. The BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 NFC phone shares its form factor with the 9700 and 9780 predecessors but looks as if it has slightly rounder edges. The big difference is the addition of the touchscreen which will no doubt please CrackBerry fans globally. What strikes us about the aesthetics of the BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 is that it really doesn’t differ or make a statement above and beyond what came before it. When you consider that RIM isn’t doing so great at selling these devices, it makes us remember the old saying ” the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” The specifications look great, but it still looks a little dated even considering how thin the device is reputed to be.

Specifications of Blackberry Bold Bellagio 9790 NFC Phone

It is early days, and the rumored specifications are just that at the moment. However specifications we are hearing about are subject to change but look a little something like this: The BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 has a TFT Capacitive Touchscreen Display that’ll output at 320 x 480 pixels display resolution for your viewing pleasure, naturally she’ll run on Blackberry 7 OS and she is said to be quick. No word on processor as yet but it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if the BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 979o didn’t harbor the same 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor her stablemates, the 9900 and 9930, boast. The shooter around back is said to be a “high resolution camera” capable of 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution which again is inline with the 5 megapixel packing 9900. Other BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 camera capabilities are said to include “digital zoom and video streaming” but that is pretty generic to say the least.

BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 has 8GB of storage onboard and can take a further 32GB via the microSD slot. Connectivity comes by ways of the GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz variety which means you can expect some HSDPA 7.2Mbps, HSUPA 2.0Mbps 3G goodness if your carrier of choice supports it. GPRS & Bluetooth Connectivity are of course supported as well as that qwerty keyboard that’ll blister your fingers.

Other generic specifications of the BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 include an accelerometer,  IMAP, POP3, SMTP, BlackBerry Connect, Push E-mail, multi-format music player and a multi-format video player. BlackBerry’s Instant Messaging will, of course be, present and the usual 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB 2.0 port. The big feature for us is the NFC capability that the BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 shares with its brethren.

Pricing and carrier details are still not available, but we can guesstimate that it will be heading to AT&T and T-Mobile here in the States. No doubt more details will emerge, but what we don’t believe we will see a BlackBerry phone that isn’t just another iteration of the Bold or Torch this year.
