Frictionless: How NFC is going to change the world (NFC Infographic)

Sometimes we make life hard for ourselves and this here Frictionless NFC Infographic is a great example of how. We thought we’d put together an NFC Infographic which would educate people on the potentials of NFC. Sounds simple enough, right? It would be simple too if we didn’t grow the scope of our projects astronomically. But we are crazy creatives and as one idea gives way to another, we end up with a behemoth of a task, just like we did with our “you know what would be cool? – a page that lists out every carrier on the face of the planet and then notes the NFC phones they carry” idea that took 3 straight weeks to bring our NFC phones page to fruition. We never learn, and that’s probably why we are growing as a website because we always try to be innovative with what we do, and so far people seem to like it. Everyday we post here at NFC Rumors about developments in NFC. We preach its virtues to the tech savvy crowd who hang out here and we bring you the up-to-date news about who is doing what with a smidgen of editorial opinion added for good measure. However, a large majority of people still think NFC is only about payments and we wanted to make a visual representation of how diverse this little short range communications protocol can be and add in a whole load of stats while we were at it.

Frictionless, the NFC Infographic

Our Frictionless NFC Infographic doesn’t represent all uses for NFC, we had to stop somewhere! We didn’t show the use cases for car doors, location aware tags and walking directions. We couldn’t fit in Lockitron’s NFC door locks and a whole host of other expected NFC uses. However, everything within the Frictionless NFC Infographic has related posts on NFC Rumors. As you will see, we covered the Unbanked, Remittance Payments, NFC mobile wallets, NFC marketing, NFC services, NFC Food (we like that one), NFC social, NFC tablets, NFC phones of course and a section dedicated to how NFC is green. NFC gadgets was another section we decided to include and we felt the business case for NFC was essential and obvious with so many research houses publishing projections for the industry. We even slung in NFC security just for good measure. If you want to learn more about any subject tackled in the Frictionless NFC Infographic, simply use the search box at the top of the page. It works, we promise.

Frictionless NFC Infographic sharing

We hope you like it and may even find it useful when speaking to an NFC newbie. Feel free to share, all we ask is that you credit us and we’d love and appreciate a link back to this post. We will even chuck in a download link below the NFC Infographic itself to make it easy for you to get hold of. To see the Frictionless NFC Infographic as we intended, simply click on the image below and a larger modal window will appear. We’d like to thank WebbedUp for their help. Let us know what you think of the Frictionless NFC Infographic, it may just inspire us to try our hands at another.

This infographics is amazing. All the relevant info for the NFC ego system and market potential in one page (or a couple of giga pixels).
    Love it! Well done!!
Oh, BTW, While the graphics for the topic is concise and to the point, the tags piling at the end of the article are decisively NOT! Can you guys clean them up a little?! One article has well over half a page of those!

Thanks for the heads up. It was a setting that was out of whack. Should be all fixed now.

I think theres also the possibility to unlock the doors of the car when you aproach or lock it as you leave, it’s a real technology today and I think it could be merged into it.

    That is one beautiful infographic!
