Google’s Samsung Nexus Prime launching in October?

Google’s Samsung Nexus Prime launching in October? Maybe Halloween for this Ice Cream Sandwich monster

A new report from Korean-language Electronic Times has been talking about the Samsung Nexus Prime. We’ve been waiting to get this old graphic out and dust it off again. New rumors have surfaced that again suggest the Samsung Nexus Prime is coming adorned with Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The new vibrations on the web suggest that the Samsung Nexus Prime, which will be Google’s next pure Android experience NFC superphone, will hit mobile networks by the end of October around Halloween, which is somewhat apt for the monster NFC phone. If the rumors are correct, the Samsung Nexus Prime will be the first Ice Cream Sandwich pure Google experience phone.

Again we hear the same rumored specifications for the Samsung Nexus Prime for Google

It doesn’t matter whether you are an Apple fan or an Fandroid, you have to admit the Google pure experience phones are svelte. We love both OS’s, but Google does appear to be pulling away from Apple in terms of hardware specifications in their phones lately. Of course hardware doesn’t make the phone and software, associated services, apps and OS are major factors, but hardware helps. The Samsung Nexus Prime is reputed to build upon those hardware specifications and then some, to a degree that makes the Samsung Galaxy S II look mediocre, which it is not. Word on the street suggests that the Samsung Nexus Prime will feature a 1.5Ghz OMAP4460 chipset, dual core processor. The Samsung Nexus Prime display has again been rumored to be a 720p Super AMOLED HD screen with a PenTile layout. Older rumors suggested that the Samsung Nexus Prime will also feature HD video recording and playback at 1080p, and the camera is said to be an advanced 5-megapixel sensor. The rear camera is reported to be backed up by a 1 mega pixel camera up front. If the Samsung Nexus Prime is a Google phone you can bet it will have NFC and rumors have suggested it will also be a LTE capable device.

Whatever Google’s third-generation phone has in store, you can bet it will lead the pack. Another NFC phone on the market can only help near field communications become more prolific, and with hardware specifications that make other OEM’s eyes water, all we can say is we want a Samsung Nexus Prime.

Hopefully if it coming soon they do not do a Western Europe Galaxy S II NFC (they not ready so cripple it by issuing NFC-less models)

Samsung corrected themselves with ‘later in the year’ it will come to the UK (and Western Europe) though these dates been June, September and just sparse Q3 then Q4.

Spec wise if is those mentioned it similar to Galaxy S II Spec minus the Carrier bloat (yay!!) tho likely with a slightly inferior camera (my 10.2mp Digital Camera still have a use along with those that has 6mp or above instead of 8mp that the S II reaches)

There is high doubts Europe will be getting it with an LTE chip particular with Samsung policy of ‘redundant’ (may that be primature adoption’ – LTE/NFC or a superior model released).

With Orange France launching NFC sim cards and ramping up its NFC inspirations Galaxy SII’s NFC from ‘October’ looking likely!
