UPM RFID gets its NFC tags to the Korean market

The NFC tag giant UPM RFID has struck up a partnership with RFID Systems to provide NFC tags in the Korean market

UPM RFID today announced yet another partnership as its continues its crusade to bring NFC tags to the world. The announcement today sees the Finnish company teaming up RFID Systems, a leading inlay and tag consulting and converting firm based in Seoul, Korea. The company also provides services such as RFID project design and implementation, and runs its own NFC shopping mall for consumers, application/solution developers, carriers, retailers and event companies

RFID Systems have set up their very own NFC Store, profoundly called NFC TagStore. It can be found at nfcstore.co.kr. RFID Systems are now stocking what’s said to be an extensive selection of NFC tags from UPM RFID and a variety of off-the-shelf NFC applications. We are really starting to think some companies involved in NFC need some branding help with their company names. The idea behind the preprinted NFC tags that NFC Store intends to sell  is that they help consumers adapt NFC for everyday use. The NFC store also offers NFC smart posters and cards so Korean marketers should head over and check the NFC store out also. UPM RFID feel that there has been an unmet demand in the Korean market up until this point and that the partnership will in part help meet that need.

UPM RFID’s Global reach extends NFC tags availability further and further

“We’re executing our global NFC strategy of having the broadest global coverage of high-quality online partner stores for NFC tags. Together with Korean NFC Store, UPM RFID is reaching the fastest growing Korean NFC market and leading players in the field. We’re welcoming more local partners to join this effort by partnering with NFC Store to share the success,” says Mikko Nikkanen, Business Development Director for UPM RFID.

UPM RFID have been setting up partnerships across the world for value added resellers who need a reliable source of NFC tags. The partnership with RFID Systems is planned to start in South Korea but then soon spread to provide NFC tags to Japan, China and other Asian countries. The model of using partners and resellers for deployment appears to be working well for the world’s largest NFC tag provider.

As the name suggests, UPM RFID are known for more than NFC tags and are in fact the world’s number one producer of HF, NFC and UHF radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and inlays. However, NFC tags are set to create more demand than any other tag that has come before, and it’s good to see that when the market explosion happens, supply around the world of NFC tags shouldn’t be an issue. Over here in the States, UPM RFID has a partnership in place with SimpleNFC who again have an NFC tag store. The more volume and demand for NFC tags there is the lower the prices will fall, so feel happy that UPM RFID has opened another NFC tag market.
