If you thought the Droid Prime was the epitome of NFC phones wait until you get a load of the rumored Sony Ericsson Nozomi wonder phone that is said to be launching in March 2012. XperiaBlog has reported that they have received exclusive information concerning the upcoming Sony Ericsson Nozomi NFC phone and if the information is correct the specifications are looking amazing. The Sony Ericsson Nozomi shares many specifications of other NFC phones that are expected to be launched this fall – all except the display. Instead of a 4.5-inch, the company has decided to stay with a 4.3-inch screen that has a resolution of 1280 x 720. And yes, if you are a mathematician that does mean that the PPI is north of 300. In fact, the pixels per square inch are higher than those in the Apple iPhone 4 which tops out at 326 PPI. The new Sony Ericsson Nozomi’s display boasts 342 PPI!
Other Sony Ericsson Nozomi Specifications
Considering the giant nature of Sony and the fact it has thrown its weight behind Android, the electronics empire has produced very few, if any, super phones. However, that looks set to change this next March if the rumors are true regarding the Sony Ericsson Nozomi. Not only does this speed demon have that fabulous screen but it also boasts a dual-core processor that will hum along at 1.5GHz, which is in line with the current top echelon of NFC phones that we expect to see this fall. As far as a camera goes, the Sony Ericsson doesn’t skimp out there either boasting a 12-megapixel shooter around back. The Sony Ericsson Nozomi will also carry the obligatory 1GHz of RAM and will boast a significant 32GB of internal storage.
What isn’t clear at the moment is whether the Sony Ericsson Nozomi will take a further 32 or 64GB of SD flavored storage to compliment the internal good stuff. But if the rumors are true, it will forgo the upgradable storage and take an iPhone approach and that’s a shame. The new Sony Ericsson Nozomi NFC phone will also get its juice from a 1750mAh battery which will hopefully see you through a whole day of heavy usage. Remember people, this is all rumor based at the moment so don’t let it stop you getting one of the NFC phones that are due out this fall. That said, XperiaBlog seem to think the source is credible. Sony has a penchant for releasing its “hero” phones in March, so that part of the rumor at least rings true.
If your contract is up in or around March and you have your heart set on an Android Ice Cream Sandwich NFC phone, perhaps the Sony Ericsson Nozomi NFC phone will woo you, and we should have some extra details by then also.
