It isn’t like we didn’t know that the BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380 and BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 NFC phones were getting ready to be released, but it’s always nice to get some confirmation from BlackBerry. Surprisingly, it came on the company’s dev blog, which isn’t protected by a login. It’s here that RIM announced that the BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380 and BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 NFC phones. The reason RIM felt the need to announce the upcoming NFC phones we have known about for sometime is to give some details to devs about the screen resolutions. The BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 will have a 2.4-inch screen using 480 x 360 resolution to put out 245 PPI; the BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380, on the other hand, will feature an identical res on its larger 3.2-inch display, offering a PPI of 189. Below are the specs RIM released for the BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380 and BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790.

BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380 NFC phone specs

We know that the BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380 allegedly has a 800MHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor. We have also heard the phone features a 5-megapixel camera, 1GB Flash, 512MB RAM, microSD card slot, WiFi and Bluetooth. The BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380 is rumored to launch in Q4 of this year in both GSM and CDMA flavors. So, we can guess you will be able to get one on the carriers of your choice at launch. We just hope by the time the BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380 is launched, it comes with the OS 7.1 update. Now all we need is some pricing and carrier details for the BlackBerry Curve Touch 9380.

Specifications for the Blackberry Bold Bellagio 9790 NFC Phone

The BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 has a TFT Capacitive Touchscreen Display that’ll output at 320 x 480 pixels display resolution for your viewing pleasure. Naturally she’ll run on Blackberry 7 OS, and she is said to be quick. No word on processor as yet but it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if the BlackBerry Bold 9790 Bellagio didn’t harbor the same 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor her stablemates, the 9900 and 9930, boast. The shooter around back is said to be a “high resolution camera” capable of 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution which again is inline with the 5-megapixel packing 9900. Other BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 camera capabilities are said to include “digital zoom and video streaming”, but that is pretty generic to say the least.

BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 has 8GB of storage onboard and can take a further 32GB via the microSD slot. Connectivity comes by ways of the GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz variety, which means you can expect some HSDPA 7.2Mbps, HSUPA 2.0Mbps 3G goodness if your carrier of choice supports it. GPRS & Bluetooth Connectivity are, of course, supported as well as that QWERTY keyboard that’ll blister your fingers.

Other generic specifications of the BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 include an accelerometer, IMAP, POP3, SMTP, BlackBerry Connect, Push E-mail, multi-format music player and a multi-format video player. BlackBerry’s Instant Messaging will, of course, be present and the usual 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB 2.0 port. The big feature for us is the NFC capability that the BlackBerry Bold Bellagio 9790 shares with its brethren.
