Nokia 800 press shots leaked still wondering if it is an NFC phone to go with the Nokia Wallet we exclusively reported about last week

With all the Google news today, it’s easy to forget that Nokia is getting ready to have Nokia world and probably launch the Nokia 800. However, PocketNow got hold of press photos of the Nokia 800 and put it straight back on our radar and we are asking ourselves the same question all over again. Is the Nokia 800 an NFC phone capable of NFC payments?

We reported exclusively last week that Nokia was just finalizing the details with JP Morgan Chase for its soon to be Nokia Wallet. It wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense for Nokia to release a phone as important as the Sea Ray, or Nokia 800 as it is now known, without including NFC and a secure element.

Nokia 800 specifications unknown including whether it has NFC

The launch date of November 19th is bouncing around, but it is completely unsubstantiated at this point. We’ll likely hear about the Nokia 800 at Nokia World at the end of this month so we may finally know if it is an NFC phone.

We don’t know any of the Nokia 800 specifications aside from the fact that it has a 3.7-inch display. We also now know it will come in shades of black, blue, and pink.  The potential NFC phone bears a remarkable likeness to the Nokia N9 that does come with NFC onboard.

The fact the Nokia 800 comes with such a small screen may give Nokia a challenge when it is placed in competition with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Amaze, Galaxy Nexus and Droid RAZR. So, let’s hope NFC is onboard to add some more attractiveness to the Nokia 800 for Espoo’s sake. Nokia needs to make Windows Phone 7 work as they have bet the bank on Microsoft. If the Nokia 800 has great specifications and NFC, it may just be a success because aesthetically it is beautiful.
