Samsung confirms Verizon as US carrier for Galaxy Nexus then retracts

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the most indecisive device we have ever come across. First it was being announced in New York, then that was canceled. It was eventually announced last night in Hong Kong. Then on Facebook today Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Nexus would initially launch with Verizon and then spread to other carriers after a short time. “Samsung Janel: Hi Matthew. Verizon will be offering the Galaxy Nexus with the initial release. Other carriers may support this device in the near future.”

Samsung Galaxy Nexus saga continues

Seemed like a done deal, right? But that would be too easy and so the Galaxy Nexus saga continues. Two hours later, Samsung came back and said, “Samsung Janel: My mistake, no U.S. carrier has been determined yet. Stay tuned for updates.”

So, we enter into this evening not having  clue who, where, when or how much the Galaxy Nexus will cost. We have got yet another clue that other carriers will be getting the Galaxy Nexus though. We can only hope all mobile network operators can accommodate, although it’s not looking good for Sprint. We are wondering if Verizon isn’t still pitching a fit and arguing about Google Wallet at this point, or whether Google didn’t manufacture enough Galaxy Nexus NFC phones to go around. Either way there should be Galaxy Nexus announcements coming soonish, maybe, please?

Oh well, in the meantime we can all sit around and play Galaxy Nexus themed word association – we say cluster, you say?
