Ah, what a relief to no longer have the need to speak about when Verizon will launch the Galaxy Nexus NFC smartphone. It’s done, it has happened and it’s sans Google Wallet. For us, the Galaxy Nexus specifically on Verizon has lost its luster. Verizon Galaxy Nexus NFC smartphone pricing and availability

The Galaxy Nexus smartphone will cost you a cool $299 on a two-year contract, and you can expect to commit to at the very least $30 for 2GB of LTE data per month and $39.99 for voice. We are still hearing that other mobile network operators are planning to launch the Galaxy Nexus in upcoming months. So, if you want Google Wallet, or let’s say unfettered access to the services you want, you will have to wait a little bit.

We are not sure the exclusivity deal that Verizon hammered out with Samsung and Google for the Galaxy Nexus NFC smartphone, but we do know it can’t end soon enough in our opinion. Just yesterday the Free Press announced that they had written a letter to the FCC requesting that Verizon be investigated for what it calls “blocking Google Wallet” from the Galaxy Nexus. The Net Neutrality group have also requested that the FCC hold Verizon to their license agreement and we can dig that.
