Narian compares NFC to Barcodes with infographic

The NFC and Barcode battle still looms on, and Narian Technologies has been determined to settle the dispute once and for all with an insightful infographic. QR codes are finally being accepted everywhere with marketers barely putting out a piece of printed collateral without the aforementioned QR code winging its way along for the ride. However, NFC tags have many advantages that QR codes simply can’t attain. Narian builds a strong case for NFC in its infographic that points out the many advantages that NFC holds over barcodes of any description, but that doesn’t mean that barcodes are dead yet. Obviously we favor NFC tags, NFC devices and the ecosystem that is building around the technology. However, we would be remiss if we didn’t play devil’s advocate a little and point out some of the advantages that barcodes have over NFC. So, we will endeavor to give a balanced approach as we go through Narian Technologies’ infographic.

Frictionless: How NFC is going to change the world (NFC Infographic)

Sometimes we make life hard for ourselves and this here Frictionless NFC Infographic is a great example of how. We thought we’d put together an NFC Infographic which would educate people on the potentials of NFC. Sounds simple enough, right? It would be simple too if we didn’t grow the scope of our projects astronomically. But we are crazy creatives and as one idea gives way to another, we end up with a behemoth of a task, just like we did with our “you know what would be cool? – a page that lists out every carrier on the face of the planet and then notes the NFC phones they carry” idea that took 3 straight weeks to bring our NFC phones page to fruition. We never learn, and that’s probably why we are growing as a website because we always try to be innovative with what we do, and so far people seem to like it. Everyday we post here at NFC Rumors about developments in NFC. We preach its virtues to the tech savvy crowd who hang out here and we bring you the up-to-date news about who is doing what with a smidgen of editorial opinion added for good measure. However, a large majority of people still think NFC is only about payments and we wanted to make a visual representation of how diverse this little short range communications protocol can be and add in a whole load of stats while we were at it.
